The upcoming socio-ecological transformation presents a complex challenge. The Bachelor’s program in Geography enables students to identify relevant questions and develop innovative solutions by integrating social science and natural science perspectives.

Successful completion of the program qualifies graduates for a wide range of professional fields both within and outside academia, requiring broad spatial knowledge and the ability to think and act in an interconnected manner.

With a focus on human geography (BA degree), graduates can pursue careers in media and public relations, corporate and political consulting, spatial planning, economic development, social and market research, as well as tourism and hospitality.

With a focus on physical geography (BSc degree), students qualify for roles in environmental, nature, and landscape protection institutions, water and waste management, agriculture, environmental planning, consulting, and administration, as well as government agencies such as geological state offices, environmental foundations, and associations.

The Bachelor’s program in Geography also offers students the opportunity to participate in research and development projects early on and promotes international experience through the option of completing modules or parts of modules abroad (see Erasmus).
