Structure #
The study plan primarily focuses on subject-specific foundational training in Physical Geography and Human Geography during the first four semesters. You have the option to apply for Geography as a major subject, in which case you will earn a total of 113 credit points in compulsory and elective modules. Alternatively, you can choose Geography as a minor subject, which requires 67 credit points.
The foundation of the program consists of subject-specific modules covering Physical Geography, Human Geography, Thematic-Regional Geography, Human-Environment Systems, and Geographic Information Processing, as well as a main excursion. After completing these subject-specific fundamentals, you will take the Geography Didactics module and the final module. In Berlin, the bachelor’s thesis for the major subject is written in the field of Geography.
In addition to earning credit points in compulsory modules, you can set individual focal points in both subject-specific and interdisciplinary elective areas. Furthermore, the Combined Bachelor’s program introduces you to fundamental concepts in educational sciences and language education.
