Ph.D. student

After graduating from the Global Change Geography MSc program of Humboldt University, I stayed on board with the Conservation Biogeography lab, where I am currently pursuing my doctoral studies. My broader research interests are the impacts of anthropogenic pressures on biodiversity and wildlife, and how a coexistence of people and wildlife can be fostered. Specifically, my current research focuses on the two largest terrestrial mammal species in Europe: the European bison and moose. Using methods such as species distribution modeling, connectivity analyses, and spatial population models, I want to understand the potential for range expansion, and population dynamics of these species in Central Europe. This will hopefully help to better understand opportunities and limitations of wildlife recoveries and coexistence with people in human-dominated landscapes.
