Carrying out a Bachelor or Master thesis with us: Steps to be taken
Everything you need to know if you are interested in writing a thesis with us
From deciding whether our group is the right place for you and your thesis, to submitting the final thesis.
We have prepared a guideline (pdf version) describing the supervision framework for a Bachelor or Master thesis in our group. Please read this document carefully before contacting us .
Participate in our colloquia
We offer two colloquia (i.e., seminar series), both of which are important elements in our supervision framework. Both colloquia are held in English. Please visit the Moodle forum for our schedule, to find additional resources around conducting a thesis, and to book dates for your presentations.
We expect all students carrying out Bachelor or Master theses in our lab to regularly participate in the Student colloquium.
The Student Colloquium provides a space for presenting initial concepts as well as progress made in Bachelor’s and Master’s thesis. The Student Colloquium is also a space to obtain feedback and discuss problems you may face in your thesis. Finally, in this colloquium we provide skills training and tips on scientific writing and presentations.
The Student Colloquium takes place Mondays, 1-3pm.
The Research Colloquium is a space where PhD students and postdoctoral researchers present ongoing research. This is a great forum to learn about different projects in the two research groups and thus to start generating ideas for thesis that interlink with these projects.
The Research Colloquium takes place Tuesdays, 1-3pm (during weeks when there is no institutional board meeting).
